What is MusicPulse?
MusicPulse is a Chrome browser extension that identifies the exact remix, edit, or sped-up version of a song used in a social video clip. It listens to the actual audio of the clip, reads the social context around it, and returns replay links to the version people were actually trying to replay.
It works on YouTube Shorts, long-form YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram Reels — three platforms from a single extension.
Why it exists
Social audio is noisy, edited, and often underground. The version used in a clip may live outside official catalogs, on SoundCloud or YouTube Music, and classic recognition tools tuned for the official catalog version miss it. By the time people find it, the trend moment is gone. MusicPulse closes that gap.
How the hybrid engine works
- Layer 1 — Listen first: clean audio gets a fast recognition path.
- Layer 2 — Read the social trail: when the clip is altered, lyrics, hooks, and YouTube comments help surface the version.
- Layer 3 — Return usable links: users get replay links on YouTube Music, SoundCloud, or Spotify.
When a normal scan fails on a heavily altered clip, a Deep Scan performs audio source separation to isolate the music track before recognition. Deep Scan usage is limited on the paid tier.
Comparison
Shazam is tuned for the official catalog version. AHA Music covers broad browser utility. MusicPulse focuses on social edits: chopped, stretched, sped-up, and reposted clips, using lyrics, hooks, and YouTube comments as clues when audio alone is not enough.
Pricing
Free beta with limited daily usage, and a Lifetime License for a one-time payment of EUR 29 that includes up to 20 audio scans per day and limited Deep Scan usage. There is no subscription.
